This email contains news and information about the Holiday Letting System.
1. New Version (V3.3) available.
We are please to announce a new release. This release particularly focuses on better integration with a web site, but there are quite a few other new functions. As you will recall, you can already publish your availability to your web site with a couple of clicks (based on the data already entered).
Those using this will know how much time it can save, especially through avoiding calls asking for weeks that have already let. However, you can now start to use your web site to gather the data directly from customers using a web form.
Existing users can upgrade to this new release free of charge, as discussed below. The new version has been tested on Windows 7, Vista and XP.
The highlights are as follows:
Web Site Integration: Nowadays most holiday cottages have a web site, and we now handle the following additional functions:
"Softcopy" Booking forms: This feature has been substantially improved, in part to support the improved web integration. The forms can now be saved in pretty much any format you like, including HTML, Word documents, PDFs and other graphics formats. One consequence of the change is that graphics files now open in the default Windows Picture or Photo viewer.
Minimum charge for a short let: You can now set a minimum charge for a short let in the Rates Window. If specified, then this charge is used for the cost of all short lets unless you have (a) configured the short let charge calculation and (b) this calculation results in a higher charge.
Easier creation of rates files for a new year: A new Copy Rates from Template button on the Rates Window makes it much quicker to set up a set of rates files for several properties. You set up the first "template" file, with weeks and comments etc worked out, and then quickly copy this across to other properties (adjusting the rates if necessary with the Global Change button.
Booking Status: bookings held pending receipt of deposit now simply show "Hold". The previous description "Holding - 1 week" was misleading, as the time allowed for the deposit to arrive can be altered from the default of 1 week. The date the deposit is due is shown in the status bar.
The full list of the new features is here: http://www.erwwen.com/holletsys/releasehistory.htm
This new version is available at no charge to existing registered users.
When you upgrade your software:
More notes on how to upgrade are here: http://erwwen.com/holletsys/Support/upgrade.htm and the new version can be downloaded from http://erwwen.com/holletsys/download.htm
Please note that this version is now the only supported version.
2. Price increase planned.
We’ve recently arrived at the conclusion that the product is under priced. Therefore there will be a price increase as soon as we work out the details. This won’t affect existing users.
3. Help improve your search engine rankings.
Search engine rankings are significantly influenced by the number of other sites that link to you (preferably in the same or similar business areas). Would you be willing to put a link to our web site into your site? In exchange I’ll add a link to your web site into our list of users. Better still – give me a reference quote to use as well. See the current list (including references) here: http://www.erwwen.com/holletsys/refs.htm
Here’s an example of a suitable link: “ For other owner/managers: this property is managed with Holiday Letting System software from www.holletsys.co.uk or www.erwwen.com/holletsys/ “
Please ask your web master to add this link, and then send me an email, and I’ll link to you.
4. Comments please!
I hope the system is proving valuable. Your views are always welcome.
Best wishes to all users.
